Pandemic Avian Influenza (AI) Preparedness and Guidance Program

Is your company prepared if pandemic influenza strikes?

There is not yet a human influenza pandemic, but there is a possibility that it could occur, should the virus mutate in certain ways. As the threat does exist, it is important that your company is adequately prepared for the possibility of a pandemic with significant social and economic costs and impact. EHA has developed developed the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Guidance Program to assist businesses and government entities in assessing their preparedness to address this potential crisis.

The program utilizes the Business Pandemic Influenza Checklist prepared by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a guide to review a company's preparedness program. EHA will then provide prioritized recommendations to address gaps in the program. Additionally, EHA will identify successful, proactive measures so that they can be recognized, continued and built upon.

EHA has designed this program to assess these key elements:

  • Plan for the impact of a pandemic on your business
  • Plan for the impact of pandemic on your employees and customers
  • Establish policies to be implemented during a pandemic
  • Allocate resources to protect your employees and customers during a pandemic
  • Communicate with and educate your employees
  • Coordinate with external organizations and help your community
